Leadership Team

James Brandt, Technology & Innovation

Jim is a seasoned media executive with a specialization in ad technology and marketing technology, bringing valuable insights to the fast-evolving non-profit sector. With a strong background in emerging technologies and data-driven software, he is dedicated to driving innovation and connecting communities in meaningful ways.

Beyond his technical acumen, Jim is a passionate advocate for a range of important causes, including animal welfare, arts and culture, and children's initiatives. He is actively involved in supporting civil rights, social action, and disaster relief efforts. Jim is also committed to economic empowerment and education, believing in the power of equitable opportunities to create lasting change.

Residing in scenic New Hampshire, Jim is a proud University of Michigan graduate, valuing the solid educational foundation that shaped his career. As a dedicated father of two, he understands the importance of fostering curiosity and creativity in future generations through learning.

Brendan Connors, Policy & Advocacy Lead

Brendan blends political savvy with a deep commitment to service—a journey that began on stage and led to the heart of public policy. After studying music at Berklee College of Music, he redirected his passion for creativity into advocacy, earning a degree in Political Science from the University of South Carolina.

Brendan cut his teeth in public service as an intern for Senator Tim Scott (SC), learning how legislation transforms lives. Now at the South Carolina Department of Public Policy, he bridges gaps between communities and lawmakers. In the complex ecosystem of social impact, where government grants and community needs often exist in disconnected worlds, Brendan is our compass—navigating the muddy waters between bureaucracy and those we serve.

Beyond policy work, Brendan can be found cross-legged on preschool floors, helping toddlers navigate big emotions through storytime and play, and behind a drum set teaching kids to speak the universal language of music.

Debbie DiMartino, Director of Philanthropy

Debbie’s career is a testament to the power of second acts—from the fast pace of Madison Avenue and Wall Street to nurturing the minds of preschoolers. After launching her career in accounting with renowned jeweler Harry Winston and iconic investor and philanthropist Soros Fund Management, she discovered her true calling in the laughter and curiosity of young children.

Having paused to raise three children in Connecticut, Debbie then reimagined her life and has spent the past decade as a beloved preschool teacher in Westport and Greenwich, where she blends her financial precision with creative lesson plans.

Debbie doesn’t just secure donations—she architects relationships that turn generosity into lasting impact.  Bringing a rare perspective from both corporate and classroom worlds, she makes philanthropy feel personal, having helped many of her local organizations crack their toughest fundraising challenges.

Tom Maddaloni, CPA

Tom offers a wealth of financial leadership, combining deep technical expertise with a passion for mission-driven work. As a CPA specializing in nonprofits and small businesses, he’s dedicated to ensuring every dollar maximizes impact—whether through strategic tax planning, transparent reporting, or sustainable budgeting.

After advising investment managers at JPMorgan and auditing family-owned businesses at Sax LLP, Tom shifted focus to the social sector, serving as Financial Manager for the Institute of International Education. Now, he channels that experience into financial health, ensuring we operate with both rigor and heart.

Tom holds a BA in Economics from Villanova and an MS in Accounting from Fairleigh Dickinson. A New Jersey native, Tom and his partner now make Connecticut their home, where they channel their shared passion for giving back into meaningful action.
